Dr. Andreas de Jonge – physicist ∙ founder ∙ visionary

Dr. Andreas de Jonge stands for the return of the European inventive spirit in the age of artificial intelligence.

From craftsman to physicist, from researcher to entrepreneur, he embodies a new “invention renaissance” in which technological sovereignty, precision and responsibility once again take center stage.

de Jonge GmbH was founded to develop a novel hardware-software platform that brings AI directly to the machine – locally, efficiently, and independently of cloud infrastructures. The project exemplifies a European approach to technology: thoughtful rather than disruptive, masterful rather than short-term.

The Advisory Board

The Advisory Board of de Jonge GmbH consists of three experienced members who cover the areas of law, ethics and data governance. They contribute their respective perspectives and expertise to support the management in strategic decisions and specific issues. Together, they ensure balanced and compliant corporate governance that complies with the legal framework, upholds ethical standards and ensures the responsible handling of data.

AI solutions

Not all AI is the same. In order to integrate AI models into various logic modules such as field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), industrial cameras, inspection systems and processes, the user must understand how AI works, what assumptions and data it is based on and how it arrives at its decisions.

This is exactly what you will find in our FAQs.

de Jonge GmbH stands for a new phase in European engineering:

Technology with attitude. Innovation with responsibility.

Our goal is to make machines capable of thinking – without dependence on global cloud infrastructures. We want to show that true sovereignty in the age of AI means keeping control and knowledge where they are created: in Europe, in the workshops, in the factories.

“We don’t build disposable software. We build tools that last for generations.”

We think in terms of craftsmanship, not hype.

While others rely on cloud data centers or GPU farms, we develop tailor-made, energy-efficient and transparent AI solutions that work directly where they are created.

Our systems follow the logic of European precision: understand, improve, refine.

No platform dependency. No black box. No data sale.

Only clear, comprehensible technology – designed & made in Germany.

Because Europe is not at the end of its innovative strength – it is just remembering it again.

As in the Renaissance, we are once again combining art, science and craftsmanship:

Creativity meets technology, precision meets responsibility.

de Jonge GmbH is emblematic of this awakening – a return to excellence with a human touch.

European sovereignty means:

  • Data sovereignty: What is produced remains within the company.
  • Technological independence: development without dependence on third-party platforms.
  • Regulatory pioneering role: AI Act and GDPR compliance as standard, not as an add-on.

We develop technology that is in line with the European values of responsibility, sustainability and transparency – and therefore lasts in the long term.

The AI from de Jonge transfers the European concept of quality into the digital age: precision, reliability and control – directly at the machine.

Through local processing on the device, the AI analyzes images, signals and process data in real time, detects deviations at an early stage and can react automatically to tolerance violations or anomalies – before rejects occur.

This means for you:

  • Less downtime: early detection of deviations in tools, sensors or materials
  • Higher quality: inline monitoring of every work step with reproducible precision
  • Reduced waste: immediate adjustment or shutdown in the event of faulty samples
  • Full traceability: every decision is documented, explainable and auditable
  • More independence: no cloud connection, no data outflows – full control over your know-how
  • The AI learns from real production data – not in the cloud, but on your production line – and continuously optimizes processes.

The result is an intelligent, self-monitoring production system that continues the European engineering tradition:

Understand, improve, refine – instead of trial and error.

The AI from de Jonge stands for European sovereignty, efficiency and precision.

It works locally, energy-efficiently and in real time, without a connection to external cloud servers. This eliminates latency times, minimizes data protection risks and reduces energy consumption by up to 90 %.

The result: faster, safer and more sustainable decisions directly at the machine.

Our solutions follow a clear European quality principle – “building instead of breaking”:

  • Ultra-compact, optimized models with 5-10 MB memory requirement
  • Platform-independent – can run on FPGA, RISC-V, ARM or x86
  • Deterministic behavior: true real-time instead of “best effort”
  • Transparent architecture: no black box, complete documentation
  • European regulation integrated: GDPR and AI Act compliant
  • Sovereign technology: developed and operated without cloud or API dependencies on third countries

The models are modular and hardware-agnostic.

They are exported in standardized formats (e.g. TensorFlow Lite Micro, ONNX Compact) and can be embedded directly via available C, HDL or RISC-V libraries.

This allows the AI to be integrated into existing controllers, sensors or edge devices – even without an internet connection.

Wherever real-time, energy efficiency and data sovereignty are crucial:

  • Industry & automation: visual inspection, process monitoring
  • Medical technology & pharmaceuticals: quality control, segmentation
  • Energy technology & infrastructure: Anomaly and condition monitoring
  • Security & defense applications: Object recognition, sensor fusion
  • Mobility & robotics: autonomous systems with local decision-making capabilities

Transparency is the core principle of every de Jonge solution.

Every model is fully documented, comprehensibly trained and explainable down to layer level.

The decision-making processes are disclosed through feature visualization, logging and traceable inference paths – an approach that combines AI Act compliance and technical traceability.

No black box magic – but engineering art that can be tested, understood and improved.

All data processing takes place exclusively locally or, on special request, at the customer’s premises.

There are no cloud uploads, no remote logging and no hidden data transfers.

If training data is required, it can be generated synthetically or processed pseudonymously at the customer’s premises.

Data protection, confidentiality and IP protection are an integral part of every project, not an afterthought.

“What happens in the factory stays in the factory.”

Not as a sprint, but as a masterpiece.

We believe that true innovation takes time, discipline and understanding.

That’s why we develop technology that not only works, but lasts – like a cathedral of engineering.

“Discipline is freedom. Precision is philosophy.”
